Helen Boler (Drugan) - Class Of 1942

Helen M. Drugan, R.N., 88, a former resident of Wilkes-Barre, passed into eternal life on Monday afternoon, Dec. 30, 2013, at the Emmanuel Nursing Center, Danville, where she was recently residing.

Born Feb. 25, 1925 in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter to the late John and Anna (Pauly) Boler. She was a graduate of the former St. Cyril Academy in Danville, and furthered her education by graduating from the former Wilkes-Barre General Hospital School of Nursing and the former Wilkes College.

Mrs. Drugan was employed by the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital for 14 years as a supervisor of the newborn nursery. After relocating to York County, she and her late husband Thomas operated a business until his passing on May 11, 1974. She was also previously employed by Holy Spirit Hospital in Camp Hill as a staff nurse. Following her retirement, Mrs. Drugan moved to The Meadows at Maria Joseph Manor, Danville, where she assisted as a volunteer prior to her illness.

She was a member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Danville, and previously held membership in the Pennsylvania Nurses Association and the Warrington Neighbors Federated Women's Club of Wellsville.

Helen is survived by her beloved sister, Marion B. Lautner, also of The Meadows, Danville.

There will be a Memorial Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Wendesday in the Chapel of Maria Joseph Manor, 875 Montour Blvd., Danville, with the Rev. Dominic Azagbor, O.P. chaplain, as celebrant. Final interment will be at the convenience of the family in St. Mary's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Hanover Township.
