Dolores Jordan (McKenna) - Class Of 1949

Dolores Patricia (Jordan) McKenna, wife of William Thomas McKenna, passed away on November 9, 2015 at Nottingham Village. Dolores was born in Philadelphia, PA, on March 18, 1931 to the late John Jerome and Jessie Marie Jordan. Her family relocated to Danville, PA in the 1940’s. Dolores attended St. Joseph’s School in Danville; where she was honored to be named May Queen in 8th grade. Dolores attended High School and graduated from St. Cyril’s Academy in Danville, PA. She was a member of the Danville Elkettes. Dolores was employed as a manager of Community Jewelers for 17 years. She was also employed by Dorman’s Tasty Freeze, TRW, Newberry’s Department Store, Geisinger, and Abigail’s Attic. In addition to her husband of 62 years, she is survived by her daughter-in-law, Catherine McKenna, grandchildren, Samantha J. McKenna and William C. McKenna, and seven nieces and nephews. Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved son, William J. McKenna, and her brother, Joseph J. Jordan Sr. Dolores loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved animals, including her Boston terrier, Buster. She enjoyed playing Bingo, spending time with friends, and watching television, especially football. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at St. Joseph Church, 18 East Center Street in Danville with her Pastor, the Rev. James Lease celebrating Mass. The burial will follow at the parish cemetery. Friends may call at St. Hubert Chapel, located in the annex of St. Joseph Church on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of funeral service.
