Florence Lipski (Levan) - Class Of 1959

Florence “Louise” (Lipski) Levan, 75, of Berwick, passed away on Friday, Nov. 24, 2017, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, surrounded by many loving family members.

Born in Berwick, on Dec. 24, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Louis J. and Florence L. (Dalberto) Lipski. She graduated from Ss. Cyril and Methodius Academy, Danville, in 1959. While there she was on the school’s volleyball team.

Florence worked at several local businesses including Milco, Zephyr Diner, Nichols, and Wise Foods. She was a single mother of four and worked two jobs to support her family.

She enjoyed hosting family gatherings on holidays or birthdays and liked to decorate for the occasion as well. Florence liked baking, drawing, ceramics, journaling, and singing. She liked to watch many different TV shows and joking around. She enjoyed keeping a nice yard with flowers. She loved to spend time with her family and was always supportive of her children’s various endeavors. She was a charitable person and always helped those in need.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Wanda Wynings.

She will be greatly missed by her children: Michelle Baranowski and husband, Anthony, Nanticoke, Michael Lipski and wife, Tiata, Berwick, Cynthia Hunsinger, Nanticoke, Nicole Hoke and husband, Andrew, Berwick; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a nephew.

Family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017, at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 E. Third St., Nescopeck.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 4, 2017, at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Cemetery Street, Berwick, with the Rev. Francis J. Tamburro officiating.
