Rita E. Sekulski, 94, formerly of Northumberland, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2018, at Maria Joseph Manor, Danville.
She was born Feb. 25, 1924, in Sunbury, a daughter of the late Russell and Helen (Mulcahy) Heintzelman. On Aug. 18, 1948, in St. Michael's Church, now St. Monica Church, Sunbury, she married Charles E. Sekulski who preceded her on Dec. 16, 2011.

Rita was a 1942 graduate of St. Cyrils Academy, Danville, and a 1945 graduate of St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing, Lancaster.
She was employed as a registered nurse having worked at Maria Joseph Manor, retiring in 1980.
Rita was a member of St. Thomas More Church, Northumberland until it closed. She then became a member of St. Monica Church, Sunbury, where she was very active. She was also active as a volunteer with Sun Home Hospice, a member of the Sunbury Hospital Auxiliary, and was a Eucharistic minister.

She is survived by five children and their spouses, Leo and Elizabeth Sekulski of Selinsgrove, Ann and Paul Boyer, Chuck and Connie Sekulski, and James Sekulski, all of Northumberland, and Jane and Kenneth Ritter of Kutztown; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Rev. Gerard T. Heintzelman of Danville.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Daniel in 1990.

A visitation will be held from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at St. Monica Church, Market Street, Sunbury, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11, with the Rev. Fred Wangwe AJ as celebrant.
Burial will be in Pomfret Manor Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Rita's memory may be made to the donors favorite charity.
