Anne Misencik-(Dancik) - Class Of 1950

Anne J. Dancik (nee Misencik), age 88, a resident of Amherst and formerly of Vermilion, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at the Cleveland Clinic Hospital, Avon.Anne was born November 8, 1932 in Lakewood and resided there until marrying in 1953. Along with her husband, the late Robert J. Dancik and their family, they lived throughout the United States and Europe until his retirement from the United States Air Force in 1969 when they returned to Ohio and resided in Vermilion. In 2003 Anne moved to Amherst and was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, South Amherst. While residing in Vermilion, Anne belonged to St. Mary Catholic Church, was active in the church's choir and also was a strong member of Christ Renews His Parish (CHRP). During her childhood in Lakewood, Anne attended SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic School, St. Theresa Academy and graduated high school in 1950 from the Slovak Girls Academy in Danville, Pennsylvania. All during her life, Anne enjoyed music, was a gifted singer and shared her musicality with her family and friends. Many good times were had at her home where everyone congregated for music, singing, and fellowship.Survivors include her four children: Susan (Steve) Szilagyi of Sheffield Lake, John (Laurie) Dancik of Connecticut, Karen Dancik (Dan) Abfall of Amherst, Carol (Matt) Abfall of Oberlin; ten grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Robert J. Dancik (2000); her parents, Joseph B. Misencik (1967) and Lucy M. (nee Zvolencak) Misencik (1974); sisters: Gertrude Sinchak (2006), Agnes Chinchar (2003), Rose Mayton (2020), Sr. Therese Misencik SBS (2018); and her brother, Joseph A. Misencik (2018).Family will receive friends Tuesday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. time of Mass at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 333 So. Lake St., South Amherst. Rev. Timothy O'Connor, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Brownhelm Cemetery, Vermilion.Anne's singing will live in our hearts forever.Arrangements entrusted to the Garland-Misencik Funeral Home, Amherst.
