RIP   9.23.2017

Mildred N. "Nancy" Gerst ,79, of Danville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017, at Grandview Health Homes, Danville.
She was born July 20, 1938, in Riverside, a daughter of the late Dr. Perman L. and Corene B Stevenson. On April 4, 1960, she married William G. Gerst, who passed on Aug. 29, 2005, breaking a marital union of 45 years.

Nancy was a 1954 graduate of St. Cyril Academy, Danville.
She was employed as a dietary aide at Geisinger Medical Center, and later worked as a housekeeper at the Best Western Hotel, Danville, from where she retired.
She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Danville, and had worked in the secretarial office and served faithfully volunteering wherever there was a need.
Nancy was a dedicated wife and mother. Her passion in life was her family and she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandsons, whom she adored. One of Nancy's favorite activities was dancing which she enjoyed immensely as well as reading. She will be remembered for her servant heart to many, touching countless lives over the years.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, William C. and Cathy Gerst, and Charles R. and Kim Gerst, and one daughter, Tracey Pochekailo and her companion, Nevin, all of Danville; and three grandsons, Terry, Donald and Cory.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Danville, with the Rev. Trevor J. Hahn officiating.
