Mrs. Violet Mae Keene

Violet Mae Keene, 88, of Moncks Corner, SC passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, October 11, 2023.

Violet was born on February 14, 1935 in Charleston, SC to the late Eleanor Kelly Kinard and Clifford Douglas Kinard, Sr.

She is survived by Eleanor K Jones of Orangeburg, SC (sister), Patricia K Colbert of Hanahan, SC (sister), Priscilla M Beasley (daughter), Ralph G Keene Jr (son and his wife Ruth), Raymond A Keene (son). Grandchildren – Joseph A Keene, Sabrina F Keene, Clifford S Beasley, Heather M Keene. Greatgrandchildren – Zoe E Keene, Aubrey Bryce Anthony, Devon Cordell Anthony, Jaydan Beasley-Laurence, Lyla Beasley-Laurence, Allyssa Beasley-Laurence

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph G. Keene, Sr., parents - Eleanor Kelly Kinard and Clifford Douglas Kinard, Sr., sisters- Sue K. Faulling, Betty K. Driggers, and brother Clifford Douglas Kinard Jr.

Violet was a woman of strong faith and was a founder and member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Goose Creek, SC for over 30 years. She was active in her church community in the Ladies Guild and as a Eucharistic Minister for the homebound. When her children were younger she was a Cub Scout den mother for her sons. She and her husband Ralph once owned a beautiful cabin on Lake Wateree near Columbia SC and would visit as often as they could. She enjoyed fishing, swimming and boating at their lake cabin. Many wonderful memories are shared of times with family and friends at the cabin. She enjoyed time with family and friends and was generous and giving to those who were in need

.A visitation at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, 7113 Rivers Ave. North Charleston with an evening prayer service and rosary prayers for Violet will be held Thursday, October 19, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Immaculate Conception R.C. Church, 510 St. James Ave. Goose Creek, SC will on Friday, October 20, 2023 at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Adorno Fathers in care of Immaculate Conception would be appreciated.
